Mentoring Programm

‘Photography is a craft, a technical discipline, a science, and a measurable art. But exceptional photography follows different rules. If you’re looking to develop your photographic skills, you’ve come to the right place.’

Why mentoring?

Creative people are all very different. There’s no one-size-fits-all formula for ‘the’ successful photographer. There isn’t just one right way. Together, we’ll work out what you should be focusing on right now, what needs work, where there’s room for improvement, and how you can best move forward.

Our profession is incredibly diverse and offers enormous freedom, provided you can see your own path and are brave enough to follow it. I myself have been working as a photographer, artist and trainer for more than 20 years. Since 2003, I have been supporting apprentices, students and photographers on their journey, including for the ‘Masterclass in Photography’ at the Austrian Academy of Photography.
Between the ages of 23 and 30,

having switched careers, I built up two companies, received numerous awards and reinvented myself several times.
My work can be found in exhibitions, private collections, books (…) and is represented by two galleries in Munich and Hamburg. Change is the essence of our existence. Only those who take the next step after the first one move forward. I’d be happy to help you with YOUR next step.

Details

Personal one-to-one mentoring – not a webinar or online course. You and your photography take centre stage. All levels. We can cover any topics or questions that are on your mind. Topics frequently covered include: lighting, image review, composition, costing, market positioning, competition entries, and technique. Every consultation is preceded by an analysis of your current situation. This is best done through a joint discussion, using relevant documents via the website or by submitting samples of your work. The initial consultation lasts approx. 1 hour; ongoing mentoring can be taken in short 20-minute sessions. This allows for regular discussion of day-to-day issues. You decide for yourself how often and to what extent you’d like me by your side. Just for an image review or submission, or for a longer-term reorientation? Anything is possible.

“Bree mentored me for a year as the course leader of the ‘Masterclass in Photography’. Her love for photography and her creativity are infectious, and I was able to develop significantly both photographically and personally over the course of the year. As an experienced entrepreneur, she supported me with all my questions, drawing on her extensive know-how and sharing many practical tips from her own professional career. Bree helped me to overcome my limitations and to work with passion and courage towards realising my dreams!”

“I was absolutely thrilled by the workshop with Bree! Not only her highly professional approach, but also her wit, her passion for photography and for teaching made the three-day workshop a truly memorable experience. Bree is an excellent photographer with an eye for the extraordinary, and at the same time someone who meets each workshop participant where they are and personally helps them to develop to their full potential. For me, this certainly won’t be my last coaching session with Bree. I can highly recommend her to everyone!”

“I had the pleasure of getting to know Bree as a trainer during the 2012/2013 Photography Masterclass in Salzburg. Right from the start, Bree knew how to inspire the course participants with her charming manner and her unique approach to photography. She is able to ‘meet trainees where they are’ on an individual basis, is willing to share her knowledge and experience with others, and to push and transcend boundaries together. Working on one’s own personality as a photographer with Bree is challenging, enriching and fun!”

“Bree is not just a photographer, she is a painter of light! She awakens hidden talents and nurtures them. Her enthusiasm for detail is immediately apparent. Bree is constantly on the move and thus is always reinventing herself. A thousand ideas dwell in her mind, waiting to be realised. What I liked most was that she openly shares her ideas, personal experiences and expertise. All questions are answered in detail and what is learnt is applied straight away. A workshop with Bree is not just an educational day, but an experience.”
